audio cutter

Free Audio Cutter Online

Choose the section of an audio recording you want to keep, preview your selection before editing, and export it as WAV directly in your browser.

Trim Audio Online

Use Vamriko Audio Cutter to select part of an audio recording and create a shorter clip. Load a compatible file, choose start and end points, preview the selection before editing, and export the selected audio as WAV.

The tool is useful for shortening voice recordings, preparing interview excerpts, or selecting audio for a presentation or video project without installing a full desktop audio editor.

Choose the Audio Section You Need

Use the waveform handles or enter start and end times to define your range. The time controls support minutes, seconds, and milliseconds, and the interface displays the selected duration.

Play Selection lets you listen to the chosen range before applying an edit. You can export the selection directly; Trim Selection is not required before exporting a selected clip.

Keep or Remove a Selected Section

Trim Selection keeps the selected section in the working audio. Remove Selection deletes that section and joins the audio before and after it. These controls change the working audio rather than overwriting the original file on your device.

Reset Selection restores the selection boundaries to the full current working audio. It does not undo a trim or removal. To return to the original recording, load the original file again.

Audio Compatibility and WAV Export

The file picker accepts common audio formats, but successful loading depends on your browser's ability to decode the recording. If a file cannot be decoded, the tool displays an error instead of making it available for editing.

The current export format is WAV with 16-bit PCM audio. An MP3 input is therefore exported as WAV, not as a trimmed MP3. The result uses the decoded audio's sample rate and channel count; export does not restore quality already lost in a compressed source.

Playback speed, volume, and mute controls are for listening in the interface. They do not apply speed or volume changes to the exported WAV file.

How to Use the Audio Cutter

1. Choose an audio file

Use Choose Audio or drop a file into the file area. Wait for the recording to decode and the waveform to appear.

2. Select the audio range

Adjust the selection handles or enter start and end times for the section you want to keep.

3. Preview your selection

Use Play Selection before applying an edit. Listen around the start and end points and adjust the boundaries if needed.

4. Export and download WAV

Click Export Audio, then Download WAV. Listen to the downloaded clip and confirm that it contains the intended audio.

Tips for Better Audio Cuts

Choose natural pauses where possible and avoid cutting through a spoken word or important sound. Keep the original recording until you have checked the exported clip.

If the clip is part of a larger project, check it in the intended application as well. Confirm that the WAV format and the clip's timing suit that project.

Local Audio Processing

The tool's audio-reading, editing, and WAV-export code processes your recording locally in the browser without uploading it for processing.

The page also loads analytics and advertising services. Local audio processing does not mean the entire page makes no network connections; see the site's privacy information for those services.

Audio Cutter FAQ

What is an audio cutter?

An audio cutter lets you choose part of a recording and create a shorter clip. Vamriko also provides controls to keep or remove a selected section of the working audio.

Can I trim audio online for free?

Yes. Vamriko Audio Cutter is free to use through the browser interface.

How do I cut part of an audio file?

Load a compatible file, set the start and end points, and preview the selection before editing. Use Export Audio and Download WAV to save the selected clip.

Can I remove the beginning or ending of a recording?

Yes. Select the section you want to keep, excluding the unwanted beginning or ending, then export that selection.

What format does the Audio Cutter export?

The current tool exports 16-bit PCM WAV. It does not export MP3, even when the original recording is an MP3 file.

Does Reset Selection undo an edit?

No. It resets the boundaries to the full current working audio. Load the original file again if you need to start over after trimming or removing a section.

Do playback speed and volume affect the download?

No. Those controls affect listening in the interface, not the speed or volume of the exported WAV.

Why will an audio file not load?

Your browser may be unable to decode the file's format or codec, or the file may be damaged. A file extension appearing in the picker does not guarantee that every recording with that extension can be decoded.

Is my audio uploaded to a server?

The audio-reading, editing, and export code processes the recording locally without uploading it for processing. The page separately loads analytics and advertising services.

Can I use a trimmed clip in a video or presentation?

Yes, where the target application supports the exported WAV file. Check the downloaded clip and its timing before adding it to your project.
